About the course:
This is a beginning drawing and design class. Through various exercises and projects, students will learn to draw representational and “see” as artists do. This class will help students develop visually which benefits all areas of study. Topics to be covered: line, space, perspective, and lights & shadows. While this is mainly an in-depth drawing class, students will be introduced to design topics such as color theory, animation, design, and illustration. 

Student Expectations:
Students are expected to participate in class and complete homework assignments by the next class. Students will keep a sketchbook with minimum drawing requirements that will be checked periodically. Homework assignments must be completed each week to progress in class. Plan for 1-2 hours a week.

Requirements:
No drawing experience needed but a willing heart to learn. Students with drawing experience would benefit from building strong foundational skills.

Material Fee:  $85 – covers all art supplies needed for the year

Tuition: $175 per semester / $350 yearly plus registration fees
Class times: Mrs. Kilpatrick is offering this course twice during our day.
