Pre-Algebra

Grades 6-10
Charisse Bryant, Instructor

This course will dive into the foundations of Algebra. Class time will be interactive, engaging, and at times there will be a little friendly competition. Math is fun and exciting!  We will explore it with entertaining activities and diligent work.

Each concept is taught via a video lesson, with notes, differentiated practice exercises, guided unit studies, reviews, quizzes, and exams. Here is a link to the curriculum which I have purchased for this class and is uploaded to Google Classroom.  Parents do not need to purchase this curriculum.

The students will learn integers, basic algebraic equations, factoring, square roots, radicals and of course solving for the unknown.

Student Expectations:  Each student needs to be proficient in elementary math concepts including having a mastery of basic math facts. Each student is expected to come prepared to class with all necessary supplies, homework,  projects completed, and a cooperative learning attitude. Plan on spending 60 minutes/day outside of class, Tuesday-Friday on Pre-Algebra. Daily progress will be monitored, and Mrs. Bryant expects DAILY math work.
