Tess Doornink, Instructor
This course focuses on the classification and life processes of organisms, plant biology, human anatomy, and zoology all from a Biblical worldview. Students will be required to come to class prepared with assigned reading and homework. At home they will be required to complete reading, homework questions and most exams. During the course students will also compile an extensive native leaf collection. Students will review difficult material in class through lectures, quizzes, demonstrations, and discussions. Many assignments will be done using the computer, such as making documents with images and internet activities.
Parents should be ready and willing to provide oversight for their individual student’s daily progress on assignments. They should also review ALL graded work with their students and regularly monitor their student’s grades. Grades will be updated weekly at schoology.com and will be based on chapter exams, quizzes, homework, and participation in class. Students who do not have a 70% at the end of fall semester will need instructor permission to continue. Visit Sound Learning’s general course requirements for more information.
